Repair or replace?
If the box and rails are sound, repair is almost always cheaper. If the shutter is 15–20 years old with several broken slats, replacement usually makes more sense.
Can existing shutters be motorised?
Often yes, if the motor fits the box and the slats are in good condition. The fitter can confirm on site; motorising runs 60 000 – 140 000 Ft per window.
Do I need permission to change shutters?
In a block of flats the colour and type are often fixed to keep the façade uniform. Ask the building manager before ordering.
